Satyaprakash Tiwari

Change in the course of life

In the year 1981 at the age of 16, I joined the Jr. College after passing my S.S.C. with high
Dreams. On 6th August 1981, I met the tragic railway accident and amputated both legs
above knee, which made me 100% disabled man.

  • Name – Satyaprakash Matasaran Tiwari
  • Date of Birth – 06 April 1966

Life after tragic accident

The accident made me to live in this world depending on others, but my Doctors,
Rehabilitation centers and well-wishers gave me courage hope to live again with dignity.
I developed strong will power, determination and positive thinking I wanted to prove
myself better than the able one. No one to be disappointed with my tragic accident, I
overcome all adversity by keeping myself busy with my various hobbies and talents.
Having a great passion for Sports I trained myself taking great pains and without any
Professional and Financial help. Soaring me to heights.
My burning desire helped me to success and participate in many State, National and
International Sports events for Physically Challenged persons (Para Sports). At such
events I did not just participated but also won International Medals for India (Attached
International Summer Sheet for reference). Apart from this, I have won several Medals
and Awards at National and State level Para Sports meet.
Government of India has honored me with Prestigious Dhyan Chand Sport Award-2020,

Government of Maharashtra has recognized my efforts and dedication by awarding me
the prestigious Shiv Chhatrapati Award for the year 1999-2000 as a Sports Person
(Highest Sports Award in Sports category in State).
After the retirement from active sports in 2014, I have been associated with Paralympic
Sports Association of Maharashtra and some other N.G.O to encourage and motivate
Para Sports Persons.
I always try to provide my active support to Para Games, which is held at State Level as
well as at National Level, especially in the field of Para Athletics, Para Badminton and Para
Swimming. In my manager ship, Maharashtra Swimming team won National
Championship after 13 years in 2016 and we are continuing to retain the Championship
position. I have been involved in guiding, training and advising physically challenged sports
persons, some of those reached to an International level and achieved the prestigious award
“Shiv Chhatrapati Purushkar” from State of Maharashtra.
Recently in the year 2017-2018 I have been awarded with Shiv Chhatrapati Award for
